Applicants to the CASA program must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and should have approximately 3 years of formal instruction in Arabic prior to joining CASA. Most students considered by the selection committee score Intermediate High and above on the exam.
Applicants who are accepted receive full tuition, a flight to and from Amman or Cairo, and a monthly stipend to assist with living expenses for the length of the program. Fellows are expected to cover the cost of the application fee, program fee, and insurance fees (travel and health), as well as any extra travel and activities they wish to enjoy while abroad. Before you begin this application:
· It is important that you have read the application instructions on the CASA website.
· In particular, make sure to read the instructions for identifying a proctor and send your potential proctor the exam date and designated guidelines, and confirm their approval before listing them as your proctor on the application.
· Also make sure to be prepared to send the application fee (postmarked) by the deadline.
